What do you do when a one-time hookup becomes your summertime roommate?

Jesse Chase is in Colorado just for the summer, and he is determined to have fun. It’s his last summer of freedom before graduating from college, and during his first week in town, he has a sexy hookup in a bar with a hot, mysterious man. The connection is explosive, but afterward, the guy refuses to meet up again.

But two days later, Jesse finds out that that same man will be his roommate for the rest of summer…

"Is this how you get all the guys?"
"Not all the guys act like you."

Nathan Stanford is still hurting after his engagement crumbled almost two years ago. He’s fully focused on his work as a photographer, and he’s definitely not looking for a serious relationship. But when he meets the young, intriguing Jesse in a bar, he can’t hold himself back.

He never expected to end up living with Jesse for the whole summer. He’s completely afraid of taking things any further, but at the same time, he can’t pull away…

“Stay with me. Just for tonight.”

Soon, Nathan is pulled into Jesse’s life. He’s forced to photograph a wedding that Jesse is catering, and ends up bringing Jesse on an overnight camping trip soon after.

It soon becomes clear that their feelings can’t be ignored, and what they thought was a summer fling could be so much more….

This book was ok. Nothing special, honestly. Nearly instalove and very predictable. I'm baffled by the glowing reviews. It was just mediocre. Not bad enough for me to be frustrated, not good enough for me to recommend it. I read a lot of m/m and there was nothing to make this one stand out more than any other.

There were also a few odd/awkward things. What was the deal with the neighbor complaining about Jesse and Mara being loud in the pool? It was such an odd/unnecessary scene and served no point unless the man (whose name we're told) shows up in a following book (though he's married to a woman??). I dunno. Just pointless. Also, Emilio would never do what he did since he knew how hung up Jesse was on Nathan. It was totally a manufactured plot point to create mild angst and one we've read a hundred times.

Seeing Sunrise edition by Raleigh Ruebins Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

After studying all year Jesse wants to have a bit of fun before going back to school. He meets the older Nathan and feels immediately attracted to him. What was supposed to be only a sexy hook-up is more like an immediate connection. By a stroke of luck they end up being housemates and they can’t deny their attraction any longer.

Nathan is damaged by his broken up engagement and he is afraid of forming a relationship again. Nathan gives in tentavily. He feels Jesse is good for him, that Jesse grounds him and that he can be open and vulnerable with him.
Jesse might be young in age, but very mature in personality. He knows what he wants in life, works hards and is not afraid to speak his mind and fights for what he believes in. He understands the hesitations Nathan has, never forces him and lets the relationship grow at Nathan’s speed. He ‘gets’ Nathan.

It is a slow burn love story. Very well written with a steady pace, not rushed and not too slow. Nathan and Jesse are strong characters you can easily relate to. There is fun and tenderness. Of course there are some steamy scenes, but they are secondary to the overall story. It is all about character development, interactions and the journey they travel together.
There is a little bit of drama, but not for drama’s sake. It is completely in line with the story.

Very likeable second characters as well, that are woven into the story at the right times. They enhance the story.

This story will make your heart sing.
Seeing Sunrise was a sweet, touching story about the power of love and healing. Jesse is a college student trying to enjoy his summer break, his goal is to have fun! Nathan is still recovering from a broken heart courtesy of his last relationship. The two meet in a bar and have a little naughty fun, it's supposed to be a one time thing, that is until Jesse finds a room for rent and it's at Nathan's house.

I loved Jesse and Nathan, even when he was a bit prickly. Nathan clearly is still reeling from having his heart broken, he is trying to protect himself. Jesse is so sweet and fun loving, it's just impossible to not adore him! The two of them together just made my heart swoon! It doesn't start off easy for them though, trying to pretend nothing happened and even more so that nothing will happen again. Yeah, not a chance. These two have such a great chemistry together but they also have a great friendship too!

Despite some misunderstandings that happen and the fact that Jesse is only supposed to be in Colorado for the summer these two fall for each other. Their story is sweet and poignant, Raleigh Ruebins does a great job of mixing the sweet and fun along with the emotional side and the struggles these characters face. Nathan's hurt and is struggling with some things but once he finally sees he is worthy of Jesse's love it gets you right in the feels. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish, totally falling for Jesse and Nathan! Definitely can't wait to see what is next from Raleigh!

*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is the story of older/younger, and how they find their love ! Jesse, 21, History major, catering worker with light brown hair and his friend Mara were out having fun at a lively bar. They each met someone. Jesse and Nathan hooked up. Next when Jesse answered the ad for a summer roommate, it is Nathan's house. Jesse only plans to have a fun summer before entering his last year, and then getting his PHD. Nathan, 30, Photographer and teacher, needs someone only for the summer to replace one of his roommates. Our men are attracted more than they admit, but they table the feelings and settle in. Jesse cooks for the house, and loves Chris's big dog, and moves forward. While catering a huge wedding, the photography gets ill, so, Jesse calls Nathan to fill in. It will pay well, and does end up opening doors for Nathan. The guys begin a hot sexy fling for the summer, also camp, hike and they are falling hard. All is well until Nathan misunderstands something, and spins into a terrible conclusion. Of course, if he'd have TALKED, it could have been resolved easily. So, Nathan hides, Jesse finds him and Nathan realizes he needs therapy for his bad reaction.
We like these guys, and Jesse is smarter than his years, so sweet, too. They are so sexy together. The night of Nathan's gallery show is super important. Jesse and Mara got to the successful show, and Jesse gets a big surprise. We are treated to a great ending, and epilogue.
It's a happy, sweet, low angst tale of love. ENJOY !

This was a really wonderful book. I didn't want it to end! It was wonderful, lots of surprises, sexy scenes, a beautiful love story, which will leave you wanting more! Definitely a must read, written by a very exciting Author, with a great future! Many thanks, 🍯 Honey Bee 🐝📚💙🎶
My first time reading this author and definitely not the last... Real, fleshed-out, honest, caring, and flawed characters in believable settings... one plot line was a bit obvious and I knew it was coming but can be overlooked by the wonderful time I had rooting for Nathan and Jesse to get it together (Nathan especially) and see the great things right in front of him... HEA and a bonus chapter too!!! You won't regret this purchase...
